I offer a variety of techniques which I combine depending on what you need on a specific day.

Swedish: Best-known type of bodywork performed today, one of its primary goals is to relax the entire body. It focuses on improving circulation of blood and lymph and relaxing superficial muscles. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart.  

Deep tissue/neuromuscular: It focuses on connective tissue (fascia, tendon, ligaments), and the goal is to produce changes in movement and posture.Can relieve trigger points and deep aches and pain.  Can be localized to problem areas or applied to the whole body for people who enjoy deep work.

As a stand alone treatment, it is a slow treatment focusing on the abdomen, chest, head, neck, back and sides of thighs with superficial or deep thumb strokes.  It relieves muscle tension, promote structural reintegration, reduces mental and emotional stress and improves organs and glandular balance. Works directly on the nervous system

Lymphatic drainage massage (stand alone): By encouraging lymphatic flow and the cleansing process which accompanies it, lymphatic drainage assists in maintaining the integrity of the immune system, which in turns strengthens the body against various kinds of inflammatory conditions. The basic manipulation of lymphatic drainage is an extremely light effleurage, a rapid, almost feather-like stroking of the skin.

Prenatal: maternity massage for the relief of stress, and aches and pains related to pregnancy

In a typical session, and when there are no contraindications, I like to use hot stones to enhance the release of muscle tension, hot towels, and aromatherapy for your comfort and enjoyment. I am always happy to accommodate your needs.
