Hello!
My name is Sandrine, I am French born and Portland has been "home" for the last 19 years.
After exploring different paths that all encompassed a degree or another of taking care of people, wether students when I was a teacher, clients when my husband and I owned a laundry business or refugees and immigrants when I work as a French interpreter, I decided in 2015 to become a massage therapist. Over the years I personally have found massage to be a great companion to a busy, stressed and/or achy mind and body, and was drawn to provide this escape to people in my community. I enrolled at the New Hampshire Institute for Therapeutic Arts in January 2017 and graduated the following December after completing over 750 hrs of training.
In my practice I feel strongly that everyone should be able to access massage therapy, and in these times and days I'd like to point out how important it is for children and teenagers to receive bodywork. Massage has great benefits for them; by its ability to decrease stress and anxiety, it brings balance to the immune and hormonal systems; it can help with sleep, healthy body image, self esteem and much more. Plus... they love it!. My daughter loves her regular massages; it has helped in relieving her anxiety and body aches.
Beside serving my private clients, I also feel very compelled to help the underserved. For this reason, I have started volunteering my massage services to the residents and staff members of the shelter for battered women here in Portland.
In my free time, I love spending time with my husband and daughter, working on projects, reading, watching movies, gardening, baking, and doing yoga and meditation.
I have a special interest in health, nutrition and wellness, and I try to live up to the advice I give my clients!
